First of all, criminal gangs were stealing and escaping even before boda bodas were introduced in Nairobi. Secondly, there is no guarantee that organized crime will decrease once boda bodas are removed from the CBD.
The only statistically provable correlation between Boda Boda and crime is the fact that crime levels came down as the number of people with access to motorbikes increased. Taxi motorbikes, as they are also known, have employed more young people than any other industry in Nairobi.
