About This Blog
The Name
Maina Peter Kiromo is the creator of this blog — and I have been blogging for quite a while.
My first serious attempt was Pandashuka, a now-defunct, general, wide-ranging and proudly genre-free blog. It was the sort of place where almost anything could find a home.
Then came a long hiatus.
Eventually, I found my way back to blogging.
Then another long hiatus.
Finally I made up my mind
This time, I decided not to hide behind another name. My name became the name of the blog. And perhaps that is fitting, because this blog is essentially a collection of the things that interest me, fascinate me, annoy me, make me think, or simply make me want to say something.
The Owner
I am a businessman by day, so naturally, quite a lot of what I write is viewed through the eyes of someone in business.
But business is only one part of life.
I happen to live in the same universe as musicians, scientists, actors, politicians, sportsmen and women, poets, entrepreneurs, creative writers — and, of course, Manchester United.
And this universe has far too much going on for me to restrict myself to one subject.
So while business may feature prominently here, this remains a personal blog. I write about what interests me, what I am learning, what I am questioning and, occasionally, whatever I simply feel like talking about.
The Universe
Nothing fascinates me quite like our Universe.
Its origins. Its age. Its unimaginable size. The galaxies, stars and worlds within it. The questions we have answered and the far greater number we haven't.
If there is one subject I could devote everything I have to understanding, this is it.
Science, Technology & AI
My dreams are made of these things.
I am fascinated by what human beings can discover, invent and build. Technology has transformed our world repeatedly, and artificial intelligence now feels like another of those moments when the boundaries of what is possible are shifting before our eyes.
I want to understand it. I want to experiment with it. And I will certainly write about it.
Religion
My God. My all.
Faith is not merely another subject on this blog. It is part of how I understand life itself.
Discoveries
If the news were entirely about discoveries, I would probably become a news junkie.
New planets. Ancient civilizations. New species. Scientific breakthroughs. Archaeological finds. New technologies. Things hidden for centuries suddenly brought to light.
Tell me we have discovered something, and you already have my attention.
Social Media
I have not really logged out of Twitter — now X — for about 15 years.
That probably says enough.
Gossip
A waste of time.
Politics
Conservative.
Politics occasionally finds its way here because it is difficult to talk about society, business, technology or everyday life without eventually bumping into politics.
My views are my own, and this blog is where I may occasionally express them.

I don't particularly care.
Life in General
A gift from God.
There is far too much to see, learn, build, question, experience and understand to take that gift for granted.
And that, ultimately, is what this blog is about.
