All Personal Computers (PCs) powered by Intel chips in the world are vulnerable to snooping according to a White Paper released last Wednesday by researchers. This flaw dubbed Meltdown, allows a hacker to read information from the applications memory at the Kernel. The Kernel is inside the operating system and is responsible for the computer's functioning. By exploiting the meltdown, a hacker can read everything you have stored on your computer including passwords and documents.
If your computer is running on a Intel processor from 1995 or Bar Itanium and Atom chips manufactured before 2013, you are vulnerable. The meltdown can be exploited by a hacker to read the memory of your computer without any permissions.
All Intel users have been advised to take advantage of software updates, out this week, to De-fang this vulnerability.
